CORONAVIRUS STATUS UPDATE: Hurtigruten re-started operations on the scheduled Bergen – Kirkenes – Bergen voyages along the Norwegian coast on a phased basis in June. For the rest of Summer 2020, no ship will sail with more than 50% capacity. All passengers must complete a health declaration form prior to embarkation. There are now 5 ships are sailing the route from Bergen: MS Finnmarken, MS Richard With, MS Trollfjord, MS Polarlys and MS Midnatsol, with a further 2 ships due to be added in August, MS Nordlys and MS Kong Harald. This means you will need flexibility in your travel dates and may need to add extra nights to your package before/after the voyage to fit in with flight schedules, ship departures and availability. Further sailings for other ships are being considered. The size and scale of the restart is dependent on national and international travel restrictions, government support and other external factors outside of Hurtigruten’s control. Read further information in relation to Covid-19 and cruising with Hurtigruten, visiting Norway and flying to Norway.
As of 03/08/2020, as a response to the coronavirus outbreak on board MS Roald Amundsen, Hurtigruten has temporarily suspended all expedition sailings only on MS Roald Amundsen, MS Fridtjof Nansen and MS Spitsbergen until further notice. The decision has no impact on Hurtigruten’s coastal Norway operations.
