MS FINNMARKEN

The ship is beautifully appointed and decorated in the Art Deco style that was modern when the first ship with this name was built. Rich colours, bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation characteristic of the Art Deco style. She is the only ship with both a swimming pool and Jacuzzi on deck. A defining feature on the MS Finnmarken is her bow; from deck 5 you can actually go all the way to the tip.

MS FRAM

MS Fram was built in 2007 with one mission in mind – to bring her guests closer to nature, wildlife and unforgettable experiences.  The ship is purpose built as an expedition vessel with a higher ice-class, iceberg search lights and a full ‘expedition tools-deck’. Hurtigruten believes that as an explorer you need an ‘expedition base-camp’ that is comfortable, safe, flexible and environmentally friendy. That’s Fram – simply the best expedition ship imaginable.

MS KONG HARALD

The present king of Norway, a seasoned sailor, gives his name to this ship. His is not the only famous name you will find on board.The bar is named after the Norwegian polar pioneer Fridtjof Nansen, while explorer Roald Amundsen lends his name to the café. Built in 1993, the ship was totally refurbished in 2016, offering a modern and stylish interior with a very relaxed atmosphere. The decor utilises natural materials and colours reflecting the coastal landscape.

MS LOFOTEN

MS Lofoten was launched in Oslo in 1964. Refurbished and refitted in 2003, her classic style and informal atmosphere was retained, inspiring genuine nostalgia amongst her passengers. With unique lounges and panoramic decks, this ‘old lady’ is simply incomparable. The cabins are plain, but very cosy.

MS MIDNATSOL

MS Midnatsol has a strong environmental profile and a modern design. The interior’s colourful décor is inspired by the warm sunny climate, a motif also reflected in the many pieces of Norwegian modern art on display. Key qualities of the MS Midnatsol include the large, glass expanses providing extraordinary views. MS Midnatsol is an ice class 1X ship and equipped with advanced technology, making her very well suited for expedition voyages in Antarctica and Patagonia.

MS NORDKAPP

Being an Expedition ship, MS Nordkapp comes fully equipped with Panorama Lounge, sun deck, observation deck, and – as of 2016 – her own expedition team. In this role she serves as a university at sea, with interesting lectures in her lecture theatres as well as out on the sun deck. Topics will depend on season and the waters sailed in. Originally built in 1996, she was totally refurbished in 2016 when she was upgraded with junior suites and Jacuzzis.

MS NORDLYS

The ship’s art, décor and colours are all inspired by her namesake, the Northern Lights. Passengers are encouraged to relax in the ship’s elegant maritime atmosphere in a choice of lounges and comfortable reclining chairs. In 2016, MS Nordlys was upgraded to an Expedition ship on the Norwegian coastal route, with her dedicated onboard expedition team offering a range of specialist lectures, excursions, demonstrations and activities.

MS NORDNORGE

Between 2002-2007 MS Nordnorge gave her guests memorable experiences in Antarctica. Today, as an Expedition ship, she offers similar experiences along the Norwegian coast. Her dedicated expedition team host a range of activities, expeditions and presentations, allowing guests to go deeper into the culture and landscape they sail through. The ship’s interior décor reflects an Art Nouveau and Art Deco influence.

MS NORDSTJERNEN

The ship was built for the Coastal Voyage fleet in 1956 and extensively modernised in 2013 exclusively for Arctic sailing. Today she takes explorers on adventures in the waters around Spitsbergen in the Svalbard Archipelao. Despite modernisation, she still retains the aura of an old Atlantic ship. Her classic wooden interiors combined with modern comforts create an extraordinary atmosphere. She may not offer the same luxury as The Orient Express, but she certainly rivals it when it comes to grace and beauty.

MS POLARLYS

MS Polarlys’ new look interior has been named ‘New Arctic Interior’. Hurtigruten has merged the look of modern discovery with a contemporary feel. The ship is stylishly furnished with mahogany panelling, polished brass and a selection of Norwegian modern art. Together with the extensive use of wood in the public areas and the colour palatte used, Hurtigruten has created a traditional maritime atmosphere reflecting the stunning Norwegian coastal landscape.

MS RICHARD WITH

MS Richard With proudly carries the name of Hurtigruten’s founder and was delivered to the company 100 years after he completed his first ever Hurtigruten voyage. Beautiful art by the famous Harr family adds atmosphere to the interior competes for your attention with the amazing views seen from the two Panorama lounges.

MS SPITSBERGEN

Following a complete reconstruction, MS Spitsbergen joined the Hurtigruten fleet in 2016. She is an ideal Expedition ship as her manoeuvrability and sizes makes her ideal for exploring the coast of Norway as well as the polar coastlines of Greenland, Iceland and Canada. The ship features high standards and comfortable and modern public areas and cabins with a fresh, Scandinavian design. She is modern and environmentally friendly and Hurtigruten will make further improvements in order to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

MS TROLLFJORD

MS Trollfjord has a comfortable interior with extensive use of Norwegian wood and stone. A sister ship to MS Midnatsol, she shares many of the same characteristics, such as the beautiful panorama lounge and suites. She is named after the dramatic Trollfjord in Lofoten. She is one of Hurtigruten’s newer ships, however the art on display contains original paintings that once were on board the old Hurtigruten ship MS Harald Jarl.

MS VESTERÅLEN

One of the smallest ships in the Hurtigruten fleet, MS Vesterålen has bright, cheerful public areas and lounges which contribute to the informal and intimate atmosphere. Throughout your voyage you can enjoy the views from the panorama lounge or the extensive art collection on board. With limited passenger capacity, a voyage on MS Vesteralen is truly something special.

MS ROALD AMUNDSEN – New in July 2018!

MS Roald Amundsen will lead the way towards an even more sustainable way of travelling.
